Resort season is here!
Resort Season is Here!
Hi everyone! Resort season is here!! As some of you may be getting ready to pack your bags and spend some well-deserved vacation time in a beautiful, tropical destination, I thought I’d share a few Resort looks I have put together, as well as a few packing tips. When packing for any vacation, at times I have found myself stuffing my suitcase with things that would never get worn. It’s really hard to pack light, we like our options, right? With a suitcase full of choices, I would tend to wear the same pieces over and over. After making the same mistake time and time again, I knew something had to change. Who else has experienced this?! The best thing to do is pack pieces you can mix and match with each other. This will eliminate over-packing your suite case with items you won’t even wear. Creating a check list for yourself is also helpful and will keep you focused on only packing what you need.
If you pack right, you can transition your daytime look into the perfect night outfit by adding unique jewelry, switching up your shoes and handbag. I have found it helpful to put outfits together beforehand, choosing basics, versatile tops, a cohesive color palette and only adding about 3-5 extra items that you love, just in case. Coordination beforehand is key! I still struggle with packing light however, this has definitely helped and keeps me on track. It feels really good to travel light. ☺ Take this look for example. Same olive dress as above styled in a different way. By adding a black duster over the dress and switching up the bag and shoes, it creates a completely different look. Layers are great for traveling. It can get chilly at night and in air-conditioned rooms, so packing a lightweight layering piece is a must. Most likely you will be taking pictures during your vacation, so by switching up a few things, you can create a new fresh look…picture perfect.
